Terminator Genisys (2015) | Movie Review

Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney

After the disaster that was Terminator Salvation, the franchise is back with Terminator Genisys, and Arnie’s back in it. Will this be the saving grace of the franchise, or will it be the end of the Terminator?

It’s a bit messy, but it was still fun to watch. It was tonally over the place, the clunky exposition gets in the way of the action most of the time, and the forced romance kinda put me off at some points. But still, it was pretty entertaining.

Arnold Schwarzenegger still kicks ass, and I absolutely loved the short albeit intense scene of him fighting himself. Emilia Clarke was great as Sarah Connor, and Jai Courtney was good, as well,  although as I said, the forced romance between them was a bit off putting.

All in all, Terminator Genisys isn’t so bad, but it isn’t that good, either. It’s definitely better than Terminator 3 and Salvation, though. I actually enjoyed it, and seeing Schwarzenegger kick ass again surely is worth the money.

My Rating: 7/10
