Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) | Movie Review

Starring Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult

A fun-filled, action-packed film that you’ll surely enjoy even if you’re not familiar with the Mad Max franchise. This film has truly taken its place as one of my most favorite films of 2015.

‘Fury Road’ is the first Mad Max film in 30 years, and the fourth film overall in the franchise. It’s also the first Mad Max film to not feature Mel Gibson. I have absolutely zero background as to what these films are about, and I went to the cinema with no expectations set, whatsoever.

I wasn’t expecting any touching moments in this film, but to my surprise, there were quiet a lot of these moments which I can’t fully reveal without spoiling anything. The action sequences were intense and well-directed. The film also did a wonderful job with the aesthetics of the film. The intensity of the warm colors used in this film perfectly matched the overall theme of the movie. It’s almost like a work of art. Once you start watching, you’re sucked into the world of Mad Max.

Tom Hardy, as the titular “Mad” Max Rockatansky, is a man of few words in this film. Albeit having the least amount of lines in the film, he was excellent as Mad Max, stealing the thunder in most of the action sequences. Charlize Theron was spectacular as Imperator Furiosa, and Nicholas Hoult’s Nux was brilliant as well, with Nux bringing some heart to the film.

All in all, I would highly recommend this film to anyone who’s in to action and adventure. It’s a wild and crazy ride that I would happily repeat again and again.

My Rating: 10/10
